Where it is & when to go
Best time to visit — Mid-May to September, when the passes and lake roads are open and the weather is stable. Roads to Nubra and Pangong are typically shut by snow the rest of the year.

Questions about this trip
How serious is altitude sickness here?
Real, and we plan around it. Day 1 is deliberately rest-only to acclimatise at Leh before going higher. Hydrate, avoid alcohol the first two days, and tell your driver early if you feel unwell — hotels keep oxygen on call.
Is a full day of rest on arrival really necessary?
Yes. Leh sits at ~3,500 m and most people fly in from sea level. Skipping acclimatisation is the number-one reason trips go wrong. It's built in on purpose.
Are the Pangong/Nubra camps comfortable?
Comfortable but simple — twin tents with attached bathrooms, heavy blankets, and hot dinner. Nights are cold; that's part of the experience. Leh nights are in proper hotels.
